Frequently asked questions

I want to add an Engine Monitoring system (shut down system) on my truck, how do I do that?

Medallion has a variety of different shutdown options to choose from. There are a few pieces of information you will need to have to make sure you get the right shut down for your application.

1. The first is what kind of engine is the shut down for?

2. What reasons do you want to shut down the engine? Some of the typical reasons are for low oil pressure, high engine temp and low coolant.

3. Do you want a mechanical shutdown which comes with an override button or an automatic override which comes with a module?

Once you know these answers you should download the “engine monitoring systems app. guide” and it will help you determine the right shutdown kit for your needs.

I have a Engine Monitoring system (shut down system) on my truck, what type is it?

There are basically 4 different types of shutdown systems we supply. The first is a Manual shutdown. It will have an override button on the dash to bypass the system. We refer to this system as 9033. To troubleshoot this system down load “e.m. systems 9031, 9032, 9033”. The second is the 9032 shut down system. This system uses a 4 terminal module that replaces the override button in the 9033. This is part number 1039-33000-XX. If it has 4 screw terminals download “e.m. systems 9031, 9032, 9033” The third is the 9031 shut down system. This has a 6 screw terminal module that works the same as the 9032 except it also can do low coolant level. This is part number 5009-34040-XX. To help troubleshoot this system download “e.m. systems 9031, 9032, 9033” The final system uses a module that has 15 terminals with a connector. The module number is 1072-07277-XX. This is the 905 system. In order to troubleshoot this download “e.m. systems 905”

Please contact one of our many distributors listed on the distributor web page.

I have a Coolant probe, part number on it is 02200-02, but the numbers do not appear in the available parts list.

All Coolant probe part numbers begin with 5022. So, if the probe has 02200-02 stamped into it, then the complete part number is 5022-02200-02.

I have an Alarmstat, part number 07326-225, but the numbers do not appear in the available parts list.

All Alarmstat part numbers begin with 1002. So, if the Alarmstat has 07326-225 stamped into it, then the part number is 1002-07326- and it is 225°F. Check the general product catalog (appendix B) for the dash number of the Alarmstat. According to the chart 225°F is -37, thus making the complete part number 1002-07326-37.

I have a part number but need the original manufacturers’ part number.

See part number cross reference.
